Associate Professor Ali Fung

 Mercy Perinatal is overjoyed to announce that Ali Fung has just been appointed honorary clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne! Amazing! 🙌👏🙌👏🤩🤩

This is in recognition of her massive contribution to education with Mercy Perinatal, national leadership in Maternal Fetal Medicine through RANZCOG, health service leadership at Mercy and research performance and  advocacy.  And- most importantly for just being an all round exceptional person; a brilliant clinician, colleague and friend. 

We couldn’t be more proud- absolutely thrilled for you, Ali!! Congratulations

Koryo Regional Championships

 Congratulations to our Tigers students who competed at the Koryo Regional Championships in Shepparton!

Lahaina did very well performing Taeguek 6&7, winning gold in Poomsae! Gary F had to deal with a heavier sparring weight class and KPNP setting, but did well winning silver after nearly 3 decades being out of the ring.

Rory won a bronze In sparring, starting well with an even score in his first round, but losing in the second round to his more experienced opponent.

Bruce fought an exciting match against a black belt then had a great poomsae match against another black belt. Uncontested by his opponent’s injury withdrawal in his second sparring division, Bruce won two silvers and a gold!

A great experience for our students at a very well run competition! Thanks to Sammy, Gus, and all the organisers, officials and volunteers.

 To the Students competitors and parents. Thankyou for your dedication, support and hard work, it is the journey not the destination that binds us together.

The Australian National Taekwondo Championships held in Adelaide from the 2nd of October to the 5th 

All Tigers performed magnificently all scores were very competitive. At this level that is a credit to the effort they have all put in to their training.

Liam won silver in sparring, Raha won Bronze, Daelan won Bronze, Gary won 2 Gold and a Silver in Poomsae.

Bev Walker Memorial Trophy.

 Tigers Taekwondo is excited to be invited once again to the annual Koryo Taekwondo competition. 

The 2025 Regional Taekwondo Championship will incorporate the 20th Anniversary of the Bev Walker Memorial Trophy. We encourage all our students to participate in this grass-roots event, held at Shepparton Stadium, 120 Numurkah Road, Shepparton on the 2nd November 2025 (Melbourne Cup Long Weekend).   

This is a great competition for building experience, and is one of our club pathways competitions to qualify for state and national championships.
