Congratulations to the Tigers Taekwondo students who competed yesterday at the Northern Regional Invitational Tournament. It's not always easy to muster the courage and commitment to step up and onto the competition mats, and we are incredibly proud of you all for doing just that and also of your effort in training and preparation for this event. That effort in improving yourself along with the very real experiences of competition will always be there for you to draw on throughout the rest of your martial arts journey.
Overall Tigers had 18 (mostly junior) competitors at this event, garnering a total of 7 gold medals, 6 silver and 13 bronze. 8 students entered sparring, returning with 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze. 15 students entered poomsae returning with 3 gold, 3 silver and 12 bronze. 12 students entered the jumping high kick event, but unfortunately no medals were reached on this occasion.
As we say at Tigers the medal doesn't always tell the tale of what actually happened, and we would like to remind students that some bronze medals can be "heavier" than gold.
Congratulations to all who competed once again, and special thanks to the parents helping get kids ready!
